HISTORIAN JÄNNÄT NAISET
tarinoita, joita et tiennyt olevan
Historian jännät naiset – tarinoita, joita et tiennyt olevan is a touring physical theatre performance based on Maria Pettersson’s book “Historian jännät naiset” (“Extraordinary Women of History”).
The performance gives space to extraordinary historical women, who have been casted out of history books because of their gender. Who were they? What did they do? How did they lead their lives? They were not only heroes, holy mothers or madonnas, but also cruel, fun and intelligent and above all, living and breathing people. The spectators are invited to get to know these women and their world close up, meeting them face to face.
The performance is supported by Arts Pormotion Centre Finland, Helsinki City and Kari Mattila Foundation.
